Scottish Learning Disability Week 2024 – Save the date!

Web AdminNews item, SCLD Publication

Scottish Learning Disability Week 2024 will take place on Monday 6th – Sunday 12th May

The theme is ‘Digital Transformation’ – encouraging us to think about the digital world and how it is used by people with learning disabilities. Since the Covid-19 Pandemic, the way we all use digital and technology in our daily lives has changed hugely. For some people with learning disabilities this has meant more opportunities to take part and get involved online, however for others the digital world presents barriers to joining in.

This Scottish Learning Disability Week, we will explore the changes taking place in digital technology and the opportunities that this presents for people with learning disabilities.

However, we know that life online can present risks and danger, just like real life. This can be especially true for people with learning disabilities. So we will also talk about the risks of life online and share information about how we can all stay safe while making the most of what the digital world has to offer.

We will be getting lots of partners involved throughout the Week and we would love for you to join in by organising your own events and by posting on social media. Use the hashtags #ScotLDWeek24 and #MyRight2Digital.

What can I do now?

Now is the time to put the date in your diary and start thinking about your plans for the Week! Keep an eye on the SCLD website and social media channels for all the latest news.
