The Scottish Commission for Learning Disability (SCLD) hosts the annual Scottish Learning Disability Awards, which are the culmination of activities taking place across Scotland as part of Learning Disability Week. The Awards are held annually in May.
This is an opportunity to celebrate the many achievements of people with learning disabilities in Scotland. We also want to recognise the invaluable support provided by family carers and others who support people with learning disabilities to reach their full potential.
There are 8 Award Categories which this year have been centred around our Learning Disability Week theme, ‘Community – Active, Connected, Included‘. Each award category has a judging panel to make sure each nomination is assessed fairly.
The finalists are filmed and their stories are shown at the Learning Disability Awards Ceremony where they are presented with their awards at a gala event.

We will be in touch with everyone who is taking part on the week beginning Monday 25th March 2019.
The Scottish Learning Disability Awards provide an opportunity to celebrate, on a national level, the rarely heard stories and achievements of people with learning disabilities and the people who support them. We want to use Learning Disability Week 2019 as a platform to celebrate the contribution of people with learning disabilities in their communities across Scotland.
Please note that the Learning Disability Awards are only open to people living in Scotland.
The 2019 Awards will recognise finalists under 8 categories. Find out more about our award categories and access nomination forms by clicking on the links below.
