NHS GG&C are planning a week of different events including an artwork display and baking to celebrate under this year’s theme of: ‘Looking back, thinking forward’. The week will invite patients, staff and their families to reflect on the past and think about their aspirations for the future.
Everyone is invited to come to our open afternoons during the week, where they will meet the service users and staff and have the opportunity take part in small group sessions including brooch, charm and card making, A ‘Stars In Their Eyes’ show, and a dance show!
To mark Learning Disability Week and the 10 anniversary of the National Involvement Network, ARC Scotland will be holding a major national conference. The event, on 16th May, will be live-streamed to allow everyone to tune in remotely.
The Scottish Learning Disabilities Observatory are holding their second national conference: Integrating evidence, policy and practice on Tuesday 16th May in the Royal Concert Hall, Glasgow from 9.30am-3.45pm. The programme and details of how to register for the event can be found on our website.
We will celebrate our Project SEARCH Interns’ successes and encourage the local community to engage with our programme. The keynote speaker is Dr Justin Williams, a leading researcher in psychiatry with a focus on autism. The event will take place in the Sir Duncan Rice Library from 10am-12pm.
