Recruitment: Digital Communications Officer

The Scottish Commission for Learning Disability (SCLD) is an independent charitable organisation for the learning disability sector.

We are recruiting a Digital Communications Officer to join our team. You will be responsible for the creation of engaging content for the SCLD website, our social media channels and our monthly e-bulletin. You will also provide support for the digital platforms that support The Scottish Government’s ‘The keys to life’ strategy.

Excellent writing, digital storytelling, organisational and time management skills are essential. Your social media posts will be lively, informed and influential; and you will be proactive when exploring new digital opportunities.

You will be experienced in utilising content management systems and tools such as Google Analytics to inform future communications. Experience in WordPress platforms would be particularly valuable.

You should have the capacity to engage in account management duties with external partners, and design skills would be advantageous, particularly utilising the Adobe Creative Suite software package.

A dedicated team player, you will join a small organisation, and be keen to develop your skill set to meet the needs of SCLD in this role. We are seeking to recruit an individual with a positive attitude who shares our values, as much as an absolutely defined set of skills and experience.

  • The salary for the position will be set between £24-25k.
  • 35hrs per week (9am-5pm Monday to Thursday, 9am – 4pm Friday)

If you wish to apply, a full role profile, equal opportunties monitoring form and application form can be downloaded from the SCLD website. Please return your completed application form to before 5pm on the 1st March. Interviews are likely to take place on the 14th and 15th March.
