Learning is a lifelong pursuit that can bring new skills and understanding to the things we do in our lives.
The Skills and Learning Award recognises a person or a group of people with a learning disability who have worked hard to develop their skills and take their knowledge to a new level.
The following nomination criteria was asked for on the nomination form:
- Demonstrate what new skill/s the person(s) has learned and how they use this skill/s regularly to enjoy life in new ways
- Describe the setting that the person(s) is using their new skill in and provide evidence of the benefits
- Demonstrate the challenges faced by the person(s) when learning this new skill/s
- Describe how the person(s) or group has inspired others or challenged expectations.
