SCLD is focused on building and disseminating evidence and research relevant to learning disability in Scotland. We work with academics and experts to build a robust picture of the lives of people with learning disabilities in Scotland, their experience of policy interventions and the impact on The keys to life strategy.
We seek to understand what works in relation to service delivery and practice by commissioning research and using the evidence it generates to influence policy development and practice. We also work with the Scottish Government and other key stakeholders to maximise the value and use of data relevant to learning disability and ensure it feeds into the evidence base underpinning strategy and policy.
