Annual Health Checks

Why get an Annual Health Check:

SCLD and the Scottish Government created this video that explains the importance of getting an Annual Health Check:

Annual Health Check Involvement Network (AHCIN)

The Annual Health Check Involvement Network (AHCIN) has been brought together to be an accessible, co-ordinated pathway for people with lived experience of learning disability, including carers and staff, to engage directly and be meaningfully involved with the delivery of annual health checks. The aims of the AHCIN are:

Create a network that brings together those with direct or indirect experience of a learning disability, with an interest in contributing to the implementation and ongoing delivery of annual health checks.

Create a direct link between members of the network and key areas of implementation and delivery of annual health checks, including the National Implementation Group, the Data Programme Board, Health Boards and the Scottish Government’s Learning Disability policy team.

Increase the impact of ongoing work by network members in relation to the awareness and uptake of annual health checks, by inviting members to share resources and best practice, allowing the group to amplify the resources and identify gaps.
