Supporting People with Learning Disabilites

Who should attend:
  • Staff who have recently joined specialist services for people with a learning disability
  • Staff already employed in mainstream services whose work brings them into contact with people with learning disabilities
  • Students training to work in health or social services; such as nurses, therapists and social workers
  • Interested members of the public and family carers of people with learning disabilities

  • Learn about what it was like in the past for people with learning disabilities
  • Hear about what matters most to people with learning disability
  • Understand the social model of disability from the perspective of those who have a learning disability
  • Explore how you can best support individuals.
