Meet the Consultancy Team

Here you can meet the members of the SCLD Consultancy Team. Whenever possible there is a co-consultant who has a learning disability or who is a family carer working on our projects too. We also have a small pool of freelance consultants that we may call upon to work on projects.

Andy Miller

Andy Miller is the Policy and Practice Development Manager.

"I joined SCLD in 2004. Before that I managed an advocacy organisation in Glasgow.  I have a particular interest in finding ways for people with learning disabilities to live authentic lives, with services, families and others supporting them to do this.

As well as using the skills and experience of SCLD’s staff team, I also coordinate a network of freelance consultants to increase our capacity to deliver on a wide range of projects."

Lisa Curtice

Lisa Curtice is the Director of SCLD

Her key skills are:

 ·     Facilitation

 ·     Evaluation

 ·     Policy briefing

"My particular strength is findings ways to listen to make sure that the views of disabled people and staff are included in evaluations.  I am also proud of the way that I can link practice to national policies in all of the work that I do.

I have 30 years’ experience of research in health and community care.  I worked with the World Health Organisation in Europe on healthy cities and have written about services for older people and people with learning disabilities.  I have a particular interest in improving services for people with high support needs."
