The same as you? Evaluation
It has been 10 whole years since 'The same as you?' was published. The Scottish Government wants to find out what 'The same as you?' has achieved in 10 years and what needs to be done next. The Government put together a team of people to help them do this, including a member of People First Scotland, a family carer, people who work for the NHS and social work services, as well as Lisa and Chloe from SCLD.
The team have made an Action Plan to guide them through the Evaluation. You can see the Action Plan here. It is also available to download as a PDF from the bottom of this page.
The first part of the Evaluation is a report about how the recommendations in the 'The same as you?' are going. The report is called an Evidence Scoping Report because it says what information is already available from studies and other information. Below you can see an Executive Summary or short version of the Evidence Scoping. You can download a PDF version of this document from the bottom of this page.
Here is the long version of the Evidence Scoping Report. It is a long document so you might prefer to download it as a PDF from the bottom of this page. We are working on an easy read version of this report which we hope will be available soon.
The most important part of the Evaluation will be research with people with learning disabilities and family carers. The researchers will be people with and without learning disabilities. They will ask people what has gone well in their lives and where there are still problems.
There will be lots of opportunities during the Evaluation for different people and groups to have their say about what has been done and what they think is important for the future.
After all the work has been done, the team will write a final report for the Minister. As the Evaluation progresses, we will be adding more information to this web page.
