SCLD’s National Employment Project was established in May 2009.

The project aims to build and sustain capacity to progress the employment of people with learning disabilities in Scotland.

The project will:

• Build a database for monitoring contacts enquiries and managing events.
• Provide a micro site on the SCLD website which will provide current information.
• Provide four learning events each year to stimulate shared problem solving on current employment issues.
• Support and guide local learning sets.
• Recruit an Employment Champion available to speak at events throughout the country.
• Invest a Capacity Building Fund to promote employability.
