In this section you will find information about some of the big projects that SCLD is working on.
You can find out about: eSAY, Working with Parents, in Control in Scotland, Citizen Leadership and Local Area Coordination.
eSAY
On the eSAY pages you will find information about the national learning disability and autistic spectrum disorder database in Scotland. In eSAY the information collected tells us about what is happening in services across Scotland. You can search the database to find out what is happening in your area. You will also find information about our National Reference Group.
In 2006, SCLD started to support professionals to meet together to improve the support that parents who have learning disabilities get. A group of 18 people meet four times a year to collect and share good practice stories. The group members are: professionals, advocates and parents themselves. You can find out more about this work in this section.
in Control Scotland’s mission is to promote and support changes in the organisation of social care and support in Scotland so that people get more control over their lives, and fulfil their role as full citizens.
In this section you can learn more about Citizen Leadership and the User and Carer Forum which is facilitated by SCLD.
Citizen Leadership is about a change of relationship between people who use services and people who provide them. In this new relationship people as citizens take on shared responsibility for making sure services meet their needs.
In this section you can find out about the work that Local Area Coordinators are doing in Scotland. You will find information about how Local Area Coordination is making a difference to people’s lives and how to get in touch.
