SCLD Projects
In this section you will find information about some of the projects that SCLD is working on.
eSAY
On the eSAY pages you will find information about the national learning disability and autism database in Scotland. In eSAY the information collected tells us about what is happening in services across Scotland. You can search the database to find out what is happening in your area. You will also find information about our National Reference Group. Visit the eSAY pages…
Working with parents
In 2006, SCLD started to support professionals to meet together to improve the support that parents who have learning disabilities get. A group of 18 people meet four times a year to collect and share good practice stories. The group members are: professionals, advocates and parents themselves. You can find out more about this work in this section. Visit the Working with Parents pages…
Citizen Leadership
In this section you can learn more about Citizen Leadership and the User and Carer Forum which is facilitated by SCLD. Citizen Leadership is about a change of relationship between people who use services and people who provide them. In this new relationship people as citizens take on shared responsibility for making sure services meet their needs. Visit the Citizen Leadership pages…
What's Out There?
This project started when SCLD and organisations such as The Action Group, ARC Scotland, BILD and the Glasgow Learning Disability Partnership wanted to find out about the issues facing people with learning disabilities and families from black and minority ethnic (BME) communities. We paid 2 researchers to find out what services are out there already, what people's experiences of accessing services are and what good practice organisations are involved with. The 'What's Out There?' pages will tell you about the research, what we found out, what helps overcome some of the barriers facing families from BME communities and what we hope to do next with the project.
