Accessible Information
This part of the SCLD website tells you all about accessible information and looks in detail at the easy read format. You will also find links to useful resources, best practice examples and easy read templates.
At SCLD we run our own easy read service. If you would like us to make an easy read for you or your organisation you can find out more here. We also run a half day training course called Creating easy information. This course will give you an introduction to accessible information and give you the skills to produce your own easy reads. If you would like to find out more about either of these services please contact Catherine McKay on 0141 559 5720 or catherine.m@scld.co.uk
What is accessible information?
Accessible information is information that is easily used and understood by the audience it is intended for. This can mean different things to different people. For a visually impaired person it might mean providing information in Braille or on an audiotape. For a person with a learning disability it might mean providing information in easy read format.

On the next page we will look at some of thing things that can make information inaccessible...
