Meet the Staff
I will be Acting Director until a new Chief Executive is appointed. My job will be to work with the Board and Staff team to make sure the SCLD continues to do its work and support the running of the organization.
I am also Head of the Business and Partnerships team which includes SCLD’s Training and Consultancy services.

I manage the Corporate Affairs team. The Corporate Affairs team includes SCLD’s information and communication work. The work we do includes the SCLD website, publishing SCLD News and Annual Report and also co-ordinating SCLD’s library and other information resources. Our team also co-ordinates the annual Learning Disability Week in Scotland, a range of SCLD events including our Annual General Meeting and Conference and making sure SCLD promotes positive images and stories about learning disability in the media.

I manage the Policy and Performance team. I enjoy my job very much and I particularly like meeting all the different people that get involved with SCLD's work.
I am the Policy and Practice Development Manager. I am responsible for developing SCLD's consultancy programme.
I am responsible for the delivery of many of SCLD’s training courses. I am also very widely involved in the design and creation of a lot of SCLD’s courses. I have a real passion for easy read and accessible information, because I feel it is very important that everyone has access to information.

I am a training officer at SCLD. I design and deliver a variety of training courses offered by SCLD. I also support our team of sessional workers to design and deliver courses. Another part of my role is to graphic facilitate at meetings and events (draw conversations on a large piece of paper).
My key skills are facilitation, designing participative training and inclusive meetings. I am most proud when I see the individuals I have supported to deliver training, develop their skills and excel in their chosen roles.
I have been a trainer for the last 15 years in both the private sector and the third sector. I am passionate about people and helping them discover and develop the skills they have within themselves.

I am the Information Officer. I support SCLD staff with their information needs and I am involved with the website, SCLD resources and the Library project.

I am the Project Co-ordinator. I am part of the National Local Area Co-ordination Development team and co-ordinates some consultancy projects too.
I manage the eSAY Project which collects information on the numbers of adults with learning disabilities in Scotland and the services they use. I am also responsible for the work we are doing on identifying the number of people with Down’s Syndrome in Scotland and I spend a lot of my time building networks with different organisations and people to help continue the work of both projects.
I am a Finance & Hr Officer. I support SCLD as part of the Administration team.
I am the training administrator with SCLD. I support the training team by looking after the bookings and enquiries. I also help out with some general work that SCLD does. I like the fact that I work for a not for profit organisation and I that I contribute to the overall process of enabling and devloping individuals.

I am the Policy and Research Assistant Manager at SCLD. I think about what different policies and plans mean for people with learning disabilities and their families. I do inclusive research with people with learning disabilities and families to find out what is happening in Scotland and what people think about it. I work on the eSAY project, which publishes statistics (numbers) about people with learning disabilities in Scotland. I am very interested in human rights and what these mean for people with learning disabilities.

I am a Consultant on the Citizen Leadership project.
My key skills are: photography, audio recording and IT.
Previous experience involved raising awareness of bullying and hate crime directed at people with
learning disabilites. I also have a short story called 'A Trip Doon the Watter' which is published in a book
entitled 'It's Better Than Watching the Telly' a collection of short stories written by a group of young
adults with Learning Disabilities.

I joined SCLD in February 2012 and I am involved with the eSAY project. I am responsible for collecting and managing data from Local Authorities. I also facilitate IT support for SCLD staff.

I joined SCLD in August 2012. I lead the finance and facilities team and I am responsible for managing the financial operations of SCLD.

I joined SCLD in January 2013. My work is focused on the development of Local Area Coordination (LAC) across Scotland as well as identifying and supporting links between LAC and self-directed support. My main areas of work include supporting the LAC network, working closely with the National Reference Group, gathering evidence to support LAC development and contributing to the ongoing development of LAC.
