The Learning Exchange is a digital library of learning resources created by The Institute for Research and Innovation in Social Services (IRISS). It contains resources for social services and social work education and training. The resources include information sheets, official publications, interactive learning resources, video clips, case studies and radio broadcasts, all of which may be used for non-commercial, educational purposes.

This service is developed in partnership by IRISS, NHS Education for Scotland, Scottish Learning Networks and Social Care Institute for Excellence (SCIE) to support practising social services staff through better access to information and knowledge.

It provides:

A single point of access to social services information and learning resources.
Tools and guidance to support individuals, communities and organisations in accessing and sharing knowledge and putting it into practice.

Interesting Activites

 

www.walkingonair.org.uk "Walking on Air" is a Scottish
charity enabling people with disabilities to soar like birds.  Walking on Air uses the facilities at the
Scottish Gliding Centre (SGC), based at Portmoak
Airfield, to provide an opportunity for people with disabilities and a sense of adventure, to be able to fly a modified K21 glider.

 

www.drumatik.com Drummatik are a socially inclusive community drumming group who have performmed widely throughout Scotland at festivals, open days and community celebrations. They also have drumming workshops available. Drummatik aim to challenge the preconceptions and stereotypical ideas that society holds about people with a learning disability.
